I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks down in the boondocks. Candidly, I did not want to be part of that flock either. I assumed that President Trump did NOT want me to be part of the “RINO Republican elite establishment” flock. I knew that President Trump always has a well-thought out reason for his every action. President Trump did not endorse me for Chair of the SC GOP. Stay with me for a little more information on my campaign for Chair of the SC GOP. I celebrated the “loss” with a really fun “Win With Lin” party at Cotton Hall. It was an election by “delegates.” I knew I would lose because I knew the “RINO Republican elite establishment” would rig the “election.” They did and I lost. The election was not one decided by the people.
But I knew that in the unlikely event I did win, I could find true Patriots who could follow my lead in making sure the SC GOP served the members of the party and not the interests of the “RINO Republican elite establishment” flock. If I had won, I would have been like the dog who caught the car.
I wanted to retire from the practice of law and write. I had no “political” experience and I did not aspire to public office. At my age, did I want to be the Chair of the SC GOP for 2 years? No. I reluctantly agreed to run for the office. So when I was asked to run by this group of SC “Republicans,” I felt I had to walk the walk. I urged people to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. On social media, I had urged ALL Patriots to get involved as we needed citizen-statesmen as officials to represent the people. In 2021, at the urging of several SC “Republicans,” I ran for Chair of the SC GOP.
